Songs of the Wandering Minstrel

Songs of the Wandering Minstrel

Join Solis Camerata and Bartholomew Faire in a joint concert celebrating song and dance of the Medieval pilgrimage. From Chaucer’s Canterbury to Spain's Compostela, come hear music from the Red Book of Montserrat, Mauchaut’s dance music, and court music from the time of King Henry the VIII. In a joyful collaboration of instruments and voices, be entertained by Songs of the Wandering Minstrel.

This year, Bartholomew Faire celebrates 20 years as the Valley of the Sun’s own living, performing early music instrument museum. From the ethereal sounds of the lute, harp, gemshorn, doucaine, and hurdy-gurdy, to the glorious snarl of the shawms, pipe & tabor, crumhorn, bladder-pipes, and gothic bagpipes, Bartholomew Faire has brought the sounds of centuries past to vibrant life at the Desert Botanical Garden, the Mesa Arts Center, the Arizona Renaissance Festival, Soul Invictus, and the Music Instrument Museum, as well as many other venues great and small.
