Once in Royal David's City

Once in royal David's city

stood a lowly cattle shed,

where a mother laid her baby

in a manger for his bed

Mary was that mother mild,

Jesus Christ her little child.

He came down to earth from heaven

who is god and Lord of all,

and his shelter was a stable,

and his cradle was a stall;

with the poor and mean and lowly

lived on earth our Savior holy.

Away in a Manger

Away in a Manger,

No crib for His bed

The little Lord Jesus

Laid down his sweet head

The stars in the bright sky

Looked down where He lay

The little Lord Jesus

a-sleep on the hay.

The cattle are lowing

The poor Baby wakes

But little Lord Jesus

No crying He makes

I love Thee, Lord Jesus Be near me, Lord Jesu

Look down from the sky

And stay by my side,

Until morning is nigh.

Be near me, Lord Jesus,

I ask Thee to stay

Close by me forever

And love me I pray

Bless all the dear children

In they tender care

And take us to heaven

To live with Thee there

Watchmen Tell us of the Night

Watchman, tell us of the night,

What its signs of promise are.

Trav’ler o’er yon mountain’s height,

See that glory beaming star.

Watchman, does its beauteous ray

Aught of joy or hope for foretell?

Trav’ler, yes it brings the day,

Promised day of Israel.
